I have something to share with you.

The dinner rotation needed work.  And I love my slow cooker even though I usually wait till the fall to pull it out.  But I was working from home and needed a quick recipe that I could prep during my lunch hour and have dinner ready for the family.  Huge thank you to Alyssa, The Recipe Critic for this awesome recipe on her blog – this slow cooker Korean beef is awesome!!

And the best part, it’s super easy!  Flank steak and a bunch of ingredients that were already in my pantry and frig….serve it with those 90 second jasmine rice bags and add some steamed veggies.  Dinner is DONE!

Comfort on 4″

I have something to share with you.

If you need fashion advice, stop reading now. I am not the fashionable girl you follow on IG.  My everyday outfit is a work-friendly top paired with black pants or a pair of jeans. I try my best but comfort is more of a priority.

Which leads me to a rare “fashion” share.

I HATE wearing uncomfortable shoes.  I speed walk from back to back meetings around cities for work, run through airports when late for a flight and try to work while standing at one of those Varidesks each day.  I needed to find a great summer wedge and checked the blogs of those I follow that have much more fashion sense than me (Thank you Pinteresting Plans!) What did I find?  The Marc Fisher Alida Espadrille Platform Wedge in taupe.  I have had months to wear them and decided I must share to tell you to try them.  Maybe Nordstorm will put them on sale with fall around the corner.  And the most important thing- they are super comfortable!  After just a few times of wearing them to work and running errands in Dallas, they earned a front and center spot in my closet!

Escape to Winter

I have something to share with you.

Six flights in one month- I needed to find a book series that would keep my interest.  And since I love Elin Hilderbrand books, I decided to escape the Texas heat with the Winter Series.

Four books that follow the Quinn family on all the ups and downs over years of good and bad.  Marriage, divorce, infidelity, abuse, war, love and loss – it’s all there.  A nice way to get your mind off of anything important for a short while!

My Favorite Things: The Epilator

I have something to share with you.

Ok ladies….who hates shaving?

WOW– nice to know we are all in agreement.

See, I was “blessed” with dark almost black hair and as a kid, it was super embarrassing to have dark hair on my legs.  You start shaving and then you never stop.  You start waxing, which is super expensive, and you never stop.epilatorMeet my new friend- the Epilator!  Remember years back hearing about the “Epilady”?  Well, technology has changed and I decided to buy one.

The first time I used it – not the most pleasant experience. But I am used to the quick “pull” of the hair from years of waxing so this was easy to get used to. Legs- Yes! Underarms- Yes! Other places – probably more painful but why not! It can be used wet or dry, is easy to clean and the price cannot be beat compared to what I spent for waxing.  Summer present for yourself?
